For the cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, Puebla, Mexico, Progetto Arte Poli faced a particular challenge. The request was to create a the Cathedral’s new permanent liturigcal furnishings, completing the rearrengements of the presbytery, while taking into account the imposing architecture already present. The Cathedral of Puebla is indeed a treasure of Mexan Baroque, with an imposing baldachin dominating the space. The challenge, then, was to create new sacred furnishings that would not clash with the sorrounding architecture, but would complement it without overpowering it.
